I’m having a hard time deciding where I want to go. I’m really rooting for Davis because it is the only UC that offers Nutriton Science and Exercise Biology majors. I know after college I want to pursue a career in sport medicine or sports nutrition. I understand UCSD is a fantastic and very presitigious university, and I’ve been told its a huge honor to be accepted. However a vast majority of their majors focus on physics, engineering, math, and computer science. Not exactly my cup of tea. So if i turned down that offer and attended davis, which isnt exactly at the top, would it be a silly decison?? I’m a San Diego native so it’d be ahuge transition for me. How does Davis rank academically?? What about the campus life? I’d appreciate the oppinions!!
Hello, I walked past GNC today and saw those big bottles of whey protein and creatine tablets that they sell. [is gnc a rip-off?]
Are those neccessary for people who work out or do muscle intensive sports like martial arts? If they have a normal healthy diet from their food intake per day, do you think its still neccessary to take those extra supplements?
Also, What does Creatine do for you?
I’m not that athletic, so I’m worried about taking this class. The course description mentioned something about sport injuries… I heard the course is just what makes about the human body, is this true?
Human Anatomy and Physiology is intended for students interested in pursuing health and applied health-related fields, sports training, dietetics, and occupational safety. The main concept will be that the human body functions as an integrated unit. This integration exists at all structural levels from cell through system. The basic concepts of structure and function and homeostasis will be studied. Discussion of disease, sports injuries, dieting and health care issues will integrate with the discussion of human anatomy and physiology. Students enrolled in this course will research clinical applications and prepare presentations.
I’m interested in the medical field, that’s why i picked it.
Does anyone know of any place in Barcelona, Spain, where I could get some good quality whey protein powder? I just couldnt find a nutrition shop, and had to settle for an unknown brand of protein powder that I found at Decathlon (large sports retail store), and it sucks. I’m here for a year and I cant believe this city has no GNC or other outlet that sells brands like ON, MuscleTech or even EAS… This is an athletic city, surely there must be one sports nutrition shop?? Hope someone could help..
