Does Anyone Have Some Unique And Fun Themes For A Kindergarten Class?
I’ve got the basics, and I’m challenging myself this year to 182 themed days (every day of school). I’d appreciate anyone who’d like to post something they think is appropriate for kids 5-6 and is relatively easy to explain. If you have any fun ideas to go with the theme, please post them as well! Thanks a bunch.
All of the themes I already have:
The Alphabet, numbers, seasons, vacations, colors, shapes, opposites, careers, books, hygiene, space (astronomy), feelings, nutrition, money, recycling, sports, weather, In the Future, heros/heroines, safety, holidays, America, plants, traveling, exercise, computers, magic, family, Our Community, puzzles, performing, cooking, matter (solid/liquid/gas), rocks, mysteries, cartoons, pirates, & My body….
Sounds like a lot, but there is SO much more out there I’m missing. Thanks everyone!

Maybe writing to another school and getting info about them.
If you want I can give you the address of some around my town. Just email me and let me know.
I use to work with a kindergarten class and loved it.
One of my favorite days is “butterflies” which I realize is pretty specific in relation to yours, but it works well. We talk about nature (which we have already gone over), colors that they can be, then we even go into the life cycle which they LOVE…and I try to have a cocoon and a butterfly in the classroom that they can see (we let the butterfly go at the end of the lesson). We have worksheets with butterflies on them for counting and coloring, we cut out a butterfly template and fold them to make them “fly” and sometimes decorate the room. We do exercises like we’re flying like the butterflies. All kinds of stuff and the kids LOVE it! Good luck.
