    They provide energy source for your muscles to keep them going and be able to lift more and longer. And therefore the muscles grow and become stronger.
    Protein is building blocks for your muscles. They consist of protein (meat, obviously) and need it to grow. If you don’t consume enough your muscles will be strong, but lean and not big.
