I Want To Lose As Much Weight As Healthy In Four Weeks, And Live A Healthy Life Style Long Term. Help?

I am in my senior year of college and getting ready to turn 21. After gaining a significant amount of weight (30-40 pounds in 3 years) I am ready to lose. My 21st birthday is September 26 and I have a lot of events planned around that time. I want to look back on pictures of that time and not be ashamed of the way I look. I am 5’8 1/2″ and weigh 218 pounds size 14/16. In high school I played sports year around and worked out on my own on top of practices, so there is still some muscle under all of my fat. I have been working out a few times a month, but not committing. I have purchased Alli, the dietary supplement, but I am not sure about using it. I am willing to put in as much work as necessary. I do not want to go about this an unhealthy way (i.e crash dieting), but I do want to lose to my maximum potential for my birthday. My short term goal is the end of September, 27 days, could I lose 20 pounds and not starve myself? I have an old dress that is a size 10, is that out of reach?

Okay…I only started two Mondays ago and All I do is walk one hour every morning. I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost one pant size and 10 pounds. I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids. This is what I do below when I throw on a few extra pounds. It always works..No diet pills, no energy drinks..just me walking and getting the water I need. Of course I watch what I eat and the Lean Cuisine meals are great for that since the calories per box are 180 to 380 per box. Just make sure you eat healthy every three to four hours so your body will perform at its max.
    Here it is:
    Helpful Tips for weight loss:
1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch
Keep to a 1,200 food intake
Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) …and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn’t seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.
I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127
    2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body’s principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day.

I HIGHLY suggest that you go on the Body for Life diet and follow it to a tee. You can lose the 20 pounds in the time limit but have to follow exactly. It’s the easiest life change to make. You can purchase the book at amazon.com for under 10$…used….You can also go online and read about it. It’s just changing your food intake and doing exercise. I swear to you, it’s the easiest ever…just because the weight comes off pretty easily…once you hit about 20 pounds, the weight comes off a bit slower but it’s expected. You just keep moving right along. You do not have to take the dietary supplement. Start today…if you can’t find the info online or afford to buy the book, let me know and I’ll email you the foods and exercises. I’m pretty sure you can find them online though….I remember looking at them just recently. You can go to a book store and purchase the book if you’re able.
Good luck, keep your chin up and a positive attitude! You can do it….just switch your determination into full mode!

Ok, if you are serious about it, there is a very simple and healthy way to lose some weight.
First of all, you need to eat at least 1800 calories a day to keep that regime “healthy. 1800 ( 1700-1900) is your basic metabolism. Use some multivitamins to make sure you keep your body full supplied with vits and minerals.
If you really want to lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks. You need to burn 2500 calories MORE than you eat, which mean around 4300 calories burned every single day….
By staying there doing nothing, you already spend 1800
    4300 – 1800 = 2500
2500 cals of exercise is a lot. Its 5 hours of stationary bicycle everyday.
Personally I’d try to set a most reasonable goal. Otherwise you will have to try hardcore regime.

  • YOU GOTTA MOVE TO IMPROVE!:

You left it a bit late but you can be down about 12 pounds in a month more if you up the exercise to an hour a day. That’s tough but doable. 20 pounds is a lot in a month. Maybe this will work for you. Eat what you like. Just keep it to1200 calories a day, (healthier is better obviously), and sweat and I mean SWEAT!! for 30-40 minutes a day 6-7 days a week. Jump rope, walk, jog, swim, bike whatever. Remember the more you sweat the more you can add to your eating plan. Write down everything you eat with calorie content. This will give you an overall look at where you need to make changes. Don’t cheat, you’re only fooling yourself and don’t skip workouts. Now here’s the worst kept secret of losing weight. Don’t eat after 6 pm. It’s like a mini fast for your body and what better time to be hungry than when you’re asleep? You should be losing about between 2-3 pounds a week, which is a healthy rate without starving yourself. Good luck. If you follow this lifestyle change your weight won’t ever be a problem again.
