How Out Of Puff Should A 46 Year Old Male Push Himself To While Doing 30 Mins A Day Of Cycling For Fitness?

Currently I am doing 10 miles a day of cycling for fitness which takes between 32 and 34 minutes depending on traffic. The route is a mixture of straights, moderate and steep hills and I average just over 18 mph. Was wondering how out of puff I should try to get for maximum fitness? Thanks in advance.

What Am I Doing Wrong? Weight Loss/diet Tips Please!?

Four months ago, I decided to lose weight. I now play sports or do exercise 3-4 times a week; I have cut back on sugar; I don’t eat after 7:30pm; I’m following a more portion controlled diet with more fruits and vegetables. However I’ve only lost three pounds. What am I missing?

Should You Take Whey Protein And Creatine If Doing Workout?

Hello, I walked past GNC today and saw those big bottles of whey protein and creatine tablets that they sell. [is gnc a rip-off?]
Are those neccessary for people who work out or do muscle intensive sports like martial arts? If they have a normal healthy diet from their food intake per day, do you think its still neccessary to take those extra supplements?
Also, What does Creatine do for you?

[fitness/nutrition Experts Only Please] Is What I’m Doing Ok For My Muscles?

I’m 5’6″ and weigh 160lbs. I’m a 26 year old male.
Every other morning, I wake up in the early hours and I do some bodyweight exercises. Today I did the following (in that order) in the span of 20mins with a 10-30 second break in between each one:
25 – Leg Levers
20 – Push Ups
30 – Bicycle Crunches
20 – Push Ups
14 – 4-Count Flutter Kicks
20 – Push Ups
15 – Leg Levers
20 – Push Ups
30 – Bicycle Crunches
20 – Push Ups
20 – Flutter Kicks
20 – Push Ups
Sometimes I do 5-6 sets of 20-25 situps; same number of push ups.
Later on today, I’m going to try to run a mile but I’ll only be able to run half before I get tired and alternate walking and running.
In the evening I plan to lift weights, doing the following (5 reps of each):
Shoulder Press 75lbs
Back Squat 95lbs
Dead Lift 100lbs
– 3-5 min rest
Shoulder Press 80lbs
Back Squat 100lbs
Dead Lift 105lbs
– 3-5min rest
Shoulder Press 85lbs
Back Squat 105lbs
Dead Lift 110lbs
– 3-5min rest
Shoulder Press 90lbs
Back Squat 110lbs
Dead Lift 115lbs
– 3-5min rest
Shoulder Press 95lbs
Back Squat 115lbs
Dead Lift 120lbs
Provided that I drink one protein shake right after the body weight exercises and one right after the weightlifting, will I build muscle?
Or will I do more harm than good?
How should I increase the weights/reps/sets? What kind of math should I be doing in that respect?
Please advise.
I’m not in the military but I want to join when I get my citizenship and try out for special forces. Obiously I need to do more running.

What Exactly Would A High School Physiology Of Fitness Class Entail Doing?

I’m a sophomore in high school who is interested in getting more fit because, let’s be honest, I’m not that active. BUT! I would like to change that. I saw Physiology of Fitness in the curriculum book and thought it might be a good idea for me, but what exactly would I be doing for that half-year course? Would be it be hands on fitness in the weight room, or just teaching or a combination of both? What’s up?
